Lien Bui Obituary

Kim-Lien passed peacefully from this life the morning of May 9, the day after we celebrated Mother's Day. She was surrounded, and supported by her loving family during the last days of her life.Kim-Lien was born in Can-Tho, a scenic big city that is famous for beautiful women in South Vietnam. She was a homemaker after she got married and raised 4 daughters, and 3 sons. She survived during the Vietnam War; and was broken-hearted when 4 of her children (including one that was a 3-year-old toddler) had to escape the country by boat to pursue freedom. During this time, she stayed with the 3 other children to care for her husband in prison (which was called Re-education camp). After her husband passed away, she left Vietnam to join the rest of her family in the States to reunite with her children after 14 years of separation. She was generally happy throughout her life in the States; looking after her grandchildren, enjoying churches, feeding the homeless, and delivering goodies to low income families (community outreach program). During her last year, she enjoyed her time by traveling, cruising, and attending an adult daycare center...Kim-Lien is survived by her 7 children (and spouses), Tuan (Tu), Tina (Hazen), Lan (Erik), Vivian, Olivia (Omar), Quang (Trisha), and Khoa; 16 grandchildren: Asley, Kelvin and Jonathan Pham; Angela and Sean McVicar; Natalie, Christian and Stefan Nielsen; Christopher and Liam Dervan; Monique and Howard Dabbous; Riley, Jaxon, Brooke and Luke Regan.Kim-Lien is also survived by her brother Jean-Joseph Bui, sister Madelene Thuron, sister Duc Nguyen, and brother Dennis Bui. She was preceded in death by her husband Trieu Duc Pham, her son in law Rhys Dervan, and her brothers Long Bui, and Hung Bui.A co-celebrant mass service will be held on Friday, June 3 at 10 a.m. (St. Catherine of Siena, 1955 S Belcher Rd., Clearwater, FL).
