Douglas Ross Engel left this earth on Sunday, March 12, 2023. Doug is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Sheila Gregory Engel, his mother Dolores Engel of St. Petersburg, his sister Joanne Day (Kevin) of Phoenix AZ and 3 nieces and 3 nephews. He is predeceased by his father Richard and his sister Anne.

Doug graduated a National Merit Scholar from St. Petersburg High School before he attended college at the University of Florida. Doug returned to St. Petersburg where he was a longtime entrepreneur in the community since the early 90s. He was President of Logomotive, a specialty products company based in St.Pete. He was a business leader and proudly served on multiple boards, such as The American Marketing Association as Director of Student Relations for USF Marketing Students. Doug was proud of his involvement as a Charter Board Member of the Tennis Foundation of St. Petersburg. He was honored with the Linwood Lewallen Award for his service with the Foundation and the St. Petersburg Tennis Center at Bartlett Park.

A funeral mass at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church will be held on Thursday April 13 at 1:00 pm

Doug loved St. Petersburg. He often said we live in paradise. He loved the feel of the sun and the water. And he dearly loved the roar of Florida Field when the Gators scored. He was a good friend, uncle, brother, son and husband.
