Things You Should Know

Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be needed if you select arrangements such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you can choose an arrangement that does not require it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.

Casket costs vary. We will provide you with a casket price list and show you our selections. You may purchase a casket from a third party and have it delivered to our facility. We cannot be responsible for the condition of caskets purchased from outside sources.

Embalming and cremation costs may increase if your loved one is over 250 pounds, or if an autopsy was performed.

You may incur charges from newspapers, clergy, churches, musicians, death certificates, etc. We charge you what they charge us.

Many cemeteries require the use of an outer burial container at your expense.

You can prearrange and lock in the price of any of these services with our Legacy Planner.

Payment Policy

Sorensen Funeral Home has a uniform payment policy to serve all families fairly and prevent misunderstandings. This policy helps us contain costs for all families we serve.

If a verifiable and assignable insurance policy is available, we will take payment from the insurance company for a fee of $295. You can avoid this fee by paying with cash, personal check, or all major credit cards.
