Walter E. Crosmer, age 89, of Clearwater, Florida, assured of his salvation and place in heaven by the work of Jesus Christ who died on the cross and rose again, went to be in heaven’s glory with his Savior on Saturday, January 6th, 2024. He was surrounded by family at his home in Clearwater when he passed on from natural causes. Walt was a loving husband of 67 years to his wife, Marjorie Crosmer (nee Lamp) and their children, Steven D. Crosmer (who predeceased his father), Jesse E. Crosmer (Becky) of St. Petersburg, Florida, Ruth V. Wartick (Kent) of Clintonville, Wisconsin, Andrew A. Crosmer (Cheryl) of Valparaiso, Indiana, Joy L. Bryant (Rob) of Williamsburg, Virginia, and Walter F. Crosmer (Dede) of Morrisville, North Carolina, thirteen grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Walt was born in Roundup, Montana to Elmer and Alwina Crosmer. He was the last of six children. He left Montana to attend college at Valparaiso University in 1952 where he obtained a degree in Physics in 1956. He met the love of his life and journey partner, Marjorie, while at Valparaiso University. The two were married in 1956 and moved to Oklahoma where he continued his education until taking a job with Boeing Airplane Company in Seattle. He spent his entire 43-year career working in the Aerospace and Rocket Science field working for Bendix Corporation of Ann Arbor, MI and Honeywell Avionics Division of Clearwater, FL including working on projects such as the Apollo Lunar Module, Viking Mission to Mars and Patriot Missile Defense System.
Walt loved his family and the Lord. He believed (and practiced) that family devotions were an integral part of family bonding. He loved gardening. In his later life, Walt was a volunteer for the AARP Tax Program, the food bank, and the leader of many Bible studies. A service of life and remembrance of Walter E. Crosmer will be held at First Lutheran Church of Clearwater where Walt and Marj have been members for some 40 years, on January 20, 2024 at 10 AM.
