Vincent Joseph Cowhig passed away peacefully in his home in St Petersburg, Fl surrounded by family on September 13th,2023 at the age of 86.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Ann Cowhig, (née) Boylan, daughter Teri Krasowski and husband Mark; sons VJ Cowhig and Billy Cowhig and wife Laura; 4 grand children, Emma, Sydney, Michael and Lauren and sister Gina Dugan and husband Charles. He was born on May 2nd, 1937 to Vincent and Madeline Cowhig in the home he grew up in in Staten Island New York where lived with his now deceased sisters Marilyn, Patricia and Rose Marie. He married Ann Boylan on April 8, 1961 in Staten Island New York. He served in the Army reserves and held long term employment at the Staten Island Advance for 47 years. He retired on May 2nd, 2002 and resided in Manahawkin, NJ until moving to St Petersburg, FL in February 2022. Over the years he enjoyed spending time at the Jersey Shore with family, boating, fishing, crabbing and he enjoyed growing a fresh garden. He was a very active member of the Elks Lodge and was voted Elk of the year. He was also know as “Mr. Fixit” to friends and family and always willing to lend a helping hand. He touched many friends and family with his generosity and infectious smile. He will be greatly missed. There will be a memorial mass on Saturday, October 14th, 2023 1:30pm at St John Vianney Catholic Church 445 82nd Ave St Pete Beach, Fl 33706.
