Nguyen, Thanh Van

77, of St. Petersburg, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026. He was born in Hai Phong, Vietnam in 1948, moved to Saigon in 1954 and immigrated to the United States in 1975. He was a South Vietnam army veteran, rank of sergeant. He is survived by his beloved wife, Tam Thi Nguyen; his children, Ford Ho, Susan Catchuk and Peter Nguyen; granddaughter Alina; his siblings, Mui Thi Nguyen, Hai Van Nguyen, Mai Thi Nguyen, Diep Mong Nguyen, Tan Kim Nguyen and Tung Thanh Nguyen. Thanh was a very simple and humble man, with a quiet strength and big heart. He always put others first before himself. He had a passion for photography, technology, playing guitar, and taking daily walks in the park surrounded by nature. His biggest joy was his granddaughter, who would always bring the biggest smile to his face. There will be a visitation and service on June 5, 2026 at Sorensen Funeral Home from 10:00am to 2:00pm, followed by cremation.
