Roy D. Cooler Sr. passed away peacefully in his home on August 2, 2022 with his loving wife and two sons by his side. He was born in Hardeeville, SC on September 24, 1939.
He served in the US Army for twenty years as an electronics technician in the Signal Corp, and retired at the rank of Sergeant First Class. Much of his time in the Army was spent working with AFN Armed Forces Network. After retirement, Roy continued working with electronics establishing a successful business in the marine industry in Tampa and often traveled to Honduras with his work. He enjoyed working with his hands on projects including houses, cars, a houseboat he built, and electronic gadgets.
He was preceded in death by his parents, (Robert Lee Sr., Rosa Mae), and his brother (Robert Lee Jr.).
He is survived by his wife (Waltraud), son (Roy) and daughter in-law (Jan), son (Rick), his sister (Rosa Lee), his grand children (Aaron, Brett, Justin and Alexa).
A memorial service will be held on August 13, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at

He will be laid to rest at Bay Pines Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
