Ronald Charles Assalita was born to Mildred and Blase Assalita in Warren, Ohio on April 18th, 1943, and raised in Tamaqua, PA. He passed away on October 22, 2024, at what was his current residence in Seminole, FL at the age of 81. Ron was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Carol Rose Assalita who passed August 2, 2021.
He is survived by his 4 daughters: Kristy Galloway, Tracy Asalita, Shala Lindsay, and Cara Asalita Schrock, his 4 grandkids: Brandon Galloway, Erica Ballard, Johnny Lindsay, and Julian Schrock, 4 great-grandkids: Andrea Galloway, Alexia Galloway, Ty Ballard, and Ellie Ballard, 1 sibling: Dr. Larry Assalita, and 1 fur-baby Remi Assalita.
Ron enjoyed old black and white classic movies and tv shows, cruise vacations, bowling, poker, gardening for many years, and above all good food. He was a bit of a perfectionist that pushed his family hard at times but raised 4 strong independent daughters. He was also a jack of all trades: handy man that could fix almost anything, had a green thumb, excellent cook that specialized in soups, made a salad and salad dressing everyone loved, and even did some sewing. He will be missed greatly but will live on in everyone’s hearts and memories forever.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to Alzheimer's research. Alzheimer’s was the disease that took his wife and consumed the last 12 years of their life together.
