It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Vasil, who left us on January 27, 2025. Richard was born on December 17, 1951, in Exeter, PA. Richard was known for being good-natured from a young age, showing a unique blend of toughness and kindness. He developed his resilience from being a wrestler and battling leukemia for a decade, yet he always remained good-natured. Richard loved hosting cookouts, inviting his many friends and creating joyful memories. His outgoing personality and ability to make people laugh allowed him to be highly successful in his sales career for many years, until his retirement. Richard, lovingly known as "Pop Pop," was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren. Richard is survived by his wife, Dolores Vasil; his daughter Jessica Emley, her husband Joel, and their children Jade and Jake; his son Richard Vasil Jr., his wife Brittnee, and their three sons Tucker, Stryker, and Baker; and his sister Georgana Wilpizeski and her husband John. He was preceded in death by his mother Helen and his father George. The service will be held at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 4545 Chancellor St NE, Saint Petersburg, FL 33703, United States on Tuesday, February 4th, at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hope for Hemophilia. Richard's two grandsons, Tucker and Stryker, have hemophilia, and he would want people to help this organization continue to give back to the hemophilia community through direct patient assistance, advocacy, and education.
