Reverend Dr. Erich Heintzen Obituary

The Reverend Dr. Erich Heintzen III went to be with Our Lord on August 1, 2024 following a massive stroke. He graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary - Springfield in 1961, and served his first parish in Dickinson, ND. The next 20 years were dedicated to campus ministeries at University of North Dakota, University of Denver, Colorado Women’s College, and Florida State University. He was active in numerous leadership roles in the FL/GA District while he served as pastor at Our Savior Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg, FL.  After his retirement in 2000, he continued as Minister of Senior Adults and in other teaching and supportive capacities. He leaves behind a Gospel-centered ministry filled with care, compassion and sharing of God’s living love to those whose lives he touched.  He was a great pastor, father, husband, friend and mentor. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara, and sons Paul and Erich IV, and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by son Mark. His spirit will live on forever in the memories we cherish and the love we shared. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, August 17th 11:00 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church and School 301 58th Street South Saint Petersburg, FL 33707
