Phyllis Entzi Obituary

Phyllis Entzi, 82, of New Port Richey went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan 6, 2022.

Phyllis was born in 1939 to Lucy Dent Entzi and John O. Entzi in Youngstown, Ohio, graduated from Boardman High School and married Paul J. Puhalla. She moved to Pinellas County, Florida, where she lived for the last 44 years. She worked as a cadastral mapper eventually becoming a Senior Computer Aided Drafter (CAD) at the Pinellas County Property Appraiser’s Office for over 24 years. She served as the President of the Florida Association of Cadastral Mappers. She was a member of the Water’s Edge Condo Association Board, and an active member of the local ladies Red Hat Club.

Phyllis was a born again Christian for over 44 years. She had an amazing conversion experience and loved God deeply and tried to share His good news to anyone who would listen. She mentored many young people in their life’s journey. She accepted everyone just as they were and turned no one away – as those that she helped can attest. She believed the best in people and what they could attain given the right help and opportunity – which she was a living example. She literally would give her last $5 in her purse to someone in need, stating that God would provide for her another way. She loved baking, especially during Christmas and loved sharing how to make the family Kolachi recipe with her grandchildren. She loved walks on the beach, sitting under a tree at Mill Creek Park, watching a really funny movie so she could laugh loudly, eating Handel’s Snappy Turtle, wearing flowers in her hair and most of all being with her family especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her mother, Lucy Dent Entzi, her father, John O. Entzi, her stepmother, Marilyn Entzi, her grandson, Sam DelSignore and her niece, Martha Mangan.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Carrie (Greg) DelSignore of Ohio, Mark (Darlene) Puhalla of Florida, Jan (David) Baird of Ohio, Christopher (Laura) Puhalla of Ohio, Linda (Graham) Barker of Washington DC, Michelle Wafford of Florida and Burt Cupples III of Florida;

Her loving grandchildren: Tina (Sam) Carbon, Mark DelSignore, Dante DelSignore, Stephanie Puhalla, Deidre Puhalla, Wes Baird, Nicholas Baird, Zachary (Starr) Puhalla, Preston Jon Puhalla, Brandon Cupples, Alvin Walker II, James Sturgis, Ryan Sturgis, and Madison Wafford;

Her loving great-grandchildren: Sofia, Carlina, Scarlett, Sam, Parker, Mia, Ethan, Noah, Grayson, and Celisa Rose;

Her loving sister, Janet Burns of Ohio and her nieces, Margaret Burns and Mary-Helen Burns, nephew, Michael Burns and many cousins;

And those she loved like her own family: Patrick, Allen, Paula, Lanie, Frank, and Bill (Nathaniel).

There will be a Celebration of Life for Phyllis which will be announced at a later date.
