Paula Lorene Gibson went to Heavenly Father's arms on Friday, January 26, 2024. She was born on February 2, 1932 in a lumberjack town outside of Carthage, Texas. She was six days away from her 92nd birthday.
Her father was Lavender Latham and her mother was Ida Mae Holder. Both parents were from East Texas.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved sister, LaVenda Verlene Laster and sister's spouse, Robert E. Laster, and Paula's children, Dedra Gibson, LaVenda Lou Dukoff, Scott Gibson, Marcus Gibson and grandchildren, Christopher Commons and Rachel Gibson.
Her living family is her devoted husband of 52 years, Charles Leon Gibson. Their children along with their spouses/partners and grandchildren are Buddy Gibson and his son, Logan; Terry Gibson and Judie Harris and son, Chris; Lisa Gibson and her son, Richard Rico Jr. and his family; Tricia and Richard Commons and son Benjamin and his family; Michael and Samara Gibson and children, Saer and Naya; Dedra's children Nick Ceglar and Desiree Dowell and their families; Sabrina Shell, her son, Austin Shell; and, Joseph Harris (Lavenda Lou's son) and his family.
Each are forever grateful for her joyful sense of humor, her example for always learning, her kindness, her loving spirit, and her being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend, therapist, writer, veracious reader, avid gardener and much more.
