Margaret (Peggy) LeMaster Bachnik, 83, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away peacefully in her home on August 5, 2025. She was born in Kankakee, Illinois, to Harold and Edna LeMaster on August 17, 1941.

Peggy has a loving husband, Larry Bachnik; her sister, Patty Brown; her brother-in-law, Kirk; and her brother-in-law, Greg Bachnik. Peggy has twin sons and two daughters-in-law, Eric Bachnik (Jennifer) and Frank Bachnik (Jacqueline). Peggy also has four grandchildren whom she loves: Parker Bachnik, Shelby Bachnik, Raider Bachnik, and Ashley Bachnik.

Peggy met Larry, her husband at Emory University where she graduated with a Bachelor Degree majoring in German and Russian. While Larry finished dental school at Emory, she taught piano lessons. After Larry graduated, they moved back to St. Petersburg. Here, Peggy was a homemaker and the Office Manager of Larry’s dental practice. She was gifted with a beautiful voice and sang with the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay. She also sang in the choir and played the organ at Garden of Peace Lutheran church, Pasadena Presbyterian Church, and St. Paul Methodist Church.

Peggy and Larry always looked forward to spending time with their four grandchildren. Peggy would cook with them and give piano lessons. She also loved watching them play in the backyard, catching fish with Grandpa Larry, and feeding the turtles, ducks, and herons. She enjoyed taking them to Sawgrass Lake to feed the ducks, and looked forward to going out during the day for a drive to see the peacocks.

Anyone who knew her also knew she was a super fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and the Tampa Bay Lightning. She never missed a hockey game and knew more about hockey than most people.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11am at Starkey Road Baptist Church, 8800 Starkey Rd, Largo, FL 33777.
