Lewis Ackerman, 85, of Seminole, FL passed away on March 30, 2026, at Bay Pines VA Hospice.  He was born in Elmira, New York the son of the late Harold and Helen (Herrington) Ackerman.  After serving time in the Air Force he spent over 30 years with Thatchers/Anchor Glass before retiring to sunny Florida to spend time with his grandchildren.  Lewis found joy in working on small home improvement and landscaping projects, cherished time spent with his family, and had a deep interest in airplanes, rockets, and all things related to space.

Lewis is survived by his former spouse, Norma Ackerman; daughter, Sherry (Jay) Morgan; grandchildren, Alexis (Michael) Ryan and Lewis Morgan.  He was deeply loved and will be remembered for his kindness, patience, and gentle, thoughtful nature.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Sorensen Funeral Home on Thursday, April 9th from 10am - 12pm.
