On Saturday, April 10, 2021, Khonesavanh "Chune" Xumphonphakdy, loving husband and father of four, passed away at the age of 65.
Chune was born on October 05, 1955, in Thakhek, Laos to Khamphang and Khamouan Xumphonphakdy. After immigrating to United States, he married the love of his life, Souvaly "Suezie" Xumphonphakdy, on July 19, 1983. They raised three sons, Antony, Chantharath, and Souriya, and one daughter, Vassana. Living most of his life in New Jersey, Chune worked as a Custodian at Bernards High School.
Chune was loved by many. He has touched so many lives, through his sincere kindness and heart. His smile and laugh were unforgettable, and always made those he met feel like they belonged. He loved helping people, whether the task was small or large. His love for fishing was undeniable. He spent most of his day on the water doing what he was most passionate about. He undoubtedly met a lot of great friends along the way, and he made a remarkable family.
Chune was preceded in death by his father, Khamphang, and his mother, Khamouan. He is survived by his loving wife, Souvaly, his four children, Antony, Chantharath, Vassana, and Souriya, his brother Sisomphon, his sisters, Khamphio and Khamphong, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and three grandchildren, Damien, Colleen, and Maylannie.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Sorensen Funeral Home in St. Petersburg, FL. Flowers may be sent to Sorensen Funeral Home, 3180 30th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33713.
