passed away on June 9, 2024, at the age of 77 in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was born on July 15, 1946, in St. Petersburg, Florida where she was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Karen was preceded in death by her Father John W. Yancey and Mother Hazel Allgood Yancey. She is survived by her husband, Walter “Butch” Smith; her brother John L. Yancey; her sons Clay Zeigler and daughter-in-law Rebecca Zeigler, and Corey Zeigler and daughter-in-law Melissa Zeigler as well as her four grandchildren Logan Zeigler, Wyatt Zeigler, Braden Zeigler and Shelby Zeigler. No memorial services are currently planned for Karen. The family is requesting if you would like to honor Karen’s memory, donations can be made to the Suncoast Hospice Foundation at www.SuncoastHospiceFoundation.org  in memory of Karen.
