Juanita Loyale Chase, 91, Pinellas Park, FL, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, FL. She was born in Trilby, FL on October 17, 1934 to James William and Annie Eva (Johnson) Harris.

She leaves behind her husband, Elmer (Doug) Chase, Pinellas Park, FL; Karen Cominsky(Daughter), Pinellas Park, FL; Bruce Bratcher(Son), Dade City, FL; Connie Moran (Daughter), Bushnell, FL; James and Peggy Harris (Brother and Sister-in-law) Brooksville, FL; Paul and Ashley Chase (Stepson and Wife) Winter Haven, FL; Matthew and Sara Chase (Stepson and Wife) Lakeland, FL; Erik and Katie Speight (Grandson and Wife), Cary, NC; Christopher and Lacey Moran (Grandson & Wife) Lake Panasoffkee, FL; Keilon Bratcher (Grandson) Dade City, FL; Joshua Bratcher (Grandson), Dade City, FL; and Vanessa Bratcher (Granddaughter) Ridge Manor, FL.

October 17th, 1934 Juanita was born in a small house in her mother’s bed just outside of Trilby, FL. She attended school at Trilby Elementary and went through the 8th grade. She married the father of her children (Charles Keilon Bratcher) in 1950 and in March of 1951, she gave birth to her oldest daughter, Karen. By the time she was 20, she had three children. A full-time wife and mother until 1955 when she went to work at Pasco Packing, a citrus packing plant in Dade City, FL. She worked many jobs over her adult life and retired in 1996 after 20 years of service, from Florida Metal, Pinellas Park, a sheet metal stamping company who made parts for all types of equipment. She even made some parts for NASA. She was a Machine Operator.

She only lived outside of Florida one time when she went to Michigan with her third husband. That didn’t last long. She was a native Floridian and two years was all she could take of that cold, freezing weather. When she was with him, they sang Gospel Music at the prisons in the Prison Ministry and on radio. Once, they sang on TV.

Juanita loved flowers. They were her passion. She could bring a dead flower plant back to life. In her younger days, she loved to roller skate, even had her own pair of skates, bowl (she has a lot of trophies, so she must have been pretty good), and she played golf for fun. She also loved riding her bicycle, swimming, and traveling.

She enjoyed reading her Bible and she and Doug would read from the Bible and had devotions together every night.

She was a loving, caring person. She and Doug were in the Chaplain’s Care Ministry and everyone loved her. She always had a basket of treats (Candy) for the patients. She would ask if they were diabetic before she would give them a piece. Of course, everyone said no, so she only gave them one piece, just in case they were trying to fool her. She also gave regularly to many charities, including, Hope Children’s Home, Mercy Ships, Billy Graham, and many others. She always tithed at church and gave extra for Missionaries and other projects.

She had a great sense of humor and always picked on those she liked and loved when they would pick back. She and Pastor Stancil always had fun with each other.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James William and Annie Eva Harris. Three brothers, Edward, Floyd and Walter and a sister, Dorothy. Floyd and Dorothy passed away as children.

Her funeral service will be held at Community Bible Baptist Church, 6565 78th Avenue North, Pinellas Park, FL at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31st. Burial will be Monday, June 1st, 1:00 p.m. at Garden of Memories, 624 S.E. 3rd Avenue, Webster, FL.
