Joseph Donald Rich

Joseph Donald Rich, went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2020.

He is preceded in death by his Mother, Alma Rich, his Father, Joseph Rich and his brother, John Rich.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Susan & Gary Dunsmoor. His Daughter, Regina Rich, grandchildren, Marissa, Andria, Alonna & Jared. His granddaughter, Alonna is expecting his first great grandchild at the end of September and her name is to be Autumn Rose.

He is also survived by his companion to the end, Judy and his many nieces & nephews.  

Joe was a long time resident of Florida, spending most of his life in St. Petersburg. He ran a successful interior design business for many years. He loved all creatures, even having goats and chickens at his home in St. Petersburg. Many years ago, there was even an article written about his goats in the paper.

Those who knew Joe, loved him, even through the tough times. Everyone who met Joe, would come to have a soft spot for him. He made friends wherever he went. While he had many wild and crazy younger days, he did mellow as he grew older. His health was not the best in the end and sadly, those younger days caught up with him. Even though he had been faced with adversity in the last few years, he still showed up with a smile on his face, a warm hug and a giving heart. Family meant everything to him, especially in his final years. He would talk to his mom every day, sometimes multiple times a day, until she passed. He always inquired about his nephews and he was so proud of all of them.

He will be remembered as a kind & loving friend to all. He was never alone in this world and he is not alone now. He has been reunited with loved ones that have gone before him. He has been healed and made whole again. There is no more pain or suffering. Godspeed.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date, when it’s safe to gather again.
