Joseph Gagliardo Obituary

Joseph Gagliardo, 77, of St Petersburg went peacefully to be with God while surrounded by his loving family on November 19, 2020. He was born April 7, 1943 on Staten Island, NY to Benjamin and Ida Gagliardo and was the oldest son of 6 children. Joe attended Port Richmond High School and New York Institute of Technology. He married Addie Elizabeth Holmes in 1964, served proudly in the US Army and retired from the NYPD before moving to St Petersburg, FL in 1982 where he owned several businesses including Ollie O's Lounge, Huggers Charbroil and Spitfire Grill. Most recently he co-founded Scrubs N Duds with his daughter Phyllis Gagliardo.
He was known as Papa Joe to so many. To say that his presence was ‘YUGE’ would be an understatement. Joe was larger than life and was undeniably loved by all he crossed paths with. Papa Joe will be dearly missed by many.
He is survived by his son Joseph Gagliardo, two daughters Phyllis and Elizabeth Gagliardo; Sisters Dolores Streitman and Marie Gagliardo; Brothers William, James and Benjamin Gagliardo; nieces and nephews; Grandchildren Daniel Haskins, Keegan Climo, Joey Gagliardo and Emily Haskins and Great grandchildren Jaydon, Daniel, Colton and Greyson. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 4, 2020 at 9AM at Bay Pines National cemetery.
