Jose Manuel Cruz Jr.

Jose M. Cruz, age 62, passed away on October 15, 2021 in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Viewing will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 1:45 P.M. with funeral services from 1:45 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Thursday the 21st at Sorensen funeral home with Reverend David Sirrianna of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating.

Jose worked for the city of St. Petersburg for 23 years. He was heavily involved in the community through youth sports such as basketball, football, baseball, soccer and many others. Jose took great joy in bringing children and families together through the spirit of competition. Jose was also influential in introducing Stickball into the St. Petersburg community and was anointed into the Stickball Hall of Fame. Jose lived to create a positive and joyous atmosphere everywhere he went and was beloved by all.

Jose is survived by his wife Carmen J. Cruz, his six children, ten grandchildren, and seven siblings.
