Rieser, James "Jim" Dwight


73, of Kenneth City passed away unexpectedly on May 18th, 2026 at Largo Medical Center. He was born in Columbus, OH and later moved to Kenneth City where he met the love of his life, Hanne. Jim graduated from the Police Academy in 1989. He joined the Kenneth City Police Department where he accomplished many achievements including SGT, LT, Detective and acting Chief before his retirement. He was a US Navy Veteran who had a passion and respect for all of his fellow service members. He is best know for his love of the water. He went fishing as much as possible. Jim was also an avid woodworker, often creating treasures of all sorts for his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Verna Rieser; brothers David, Mike, Dick and Jack Rieser and sisters Carrie Evans and Barbara Lavely. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Hanne Rieser; children Jennifer (Jeremiah) Wright, Joni Ashley, Lars (Teresa) Antoniszczak and Kirsten (Tom) Eisenman; sisters Bonnie Messing and Cathy Moeller; grandchildren Brittany (Garrett) Evans, Scotty (Nicole) Wright, William Evans, Kaitlynne Sims, Joseph Sims, Emma Eisenman, Emily Ashley and Tommy Eisenman; great grandchildren Kylah Evans, Keirah Dennison and Jaxon Wright; many nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Thursday, May 28th from 12:00pm-1:00pm followed by a memorial service at 1:00pm.
