James Albert Doyle, age 72, passed away on April 20, 2026. He was born on December 5, 1953, in Washington, Indiana, the seventh of eleven children born to Mary and William Doyle.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and William Doyle, as well as his sisters, Carolyn Dowdy and Paula Shields.

Growing up as part of a large family, James developed a strong sense of independence and determination. He carried those values with him throughout his life and was known for his caring nature and his big, unforgettable laugh. Living with cerebral palsy, James faced life’s challenges with resilience and strength, never letting it define him but instead shaping a life marked by perseverance and heart.

He will be remembered for his warmth, his spirit, and the way he connected with those around him.

A memorial service in his honor will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Sorensen Funeral Home, 3180 30th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, Florida 33713, followed by interment at Memorial Park Funeral Cemetery, 5750 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the name of James Doyle.
