Jack Hutson Payne

Jack Hutson Payne, 42, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away unexpectedly at home on August 12, 2023.  He was born in Paducah, Kentucky and lived there for 10 years.  As a young boy, he waterskied with the KY Lake SkiNuts and twice won the Kentucky State Jump Championship for his age group. From there he moved to Hudson, Ohio where he played community basketball and football.  Before moving to St. Petersburg, when he was 18 years old, he also lived in Greenfield, Massachusetts.  

Jack is survived by his father, Bob Payne, his mother, Paula Gastenveld, his sister Robin Payne, his children Miguel, Tamara, and Ja’Cole Payne, both grandmothers, and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. 

He was an avid fan of the University of Kentucky basketball team and CNN news.  Jack never met a stranger; he could carry on a conversation with anybody and everybody.  He was the Operations Manager/Shop Foreman of All Southern Fabricators, LLC.

You can pay your respect on Monday, August 21, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sorensen Funeral Home, 3180 30th Ave N, St. Petersburg. The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
