Frederick Reeves Obituary

Frederick Daniel Reeves November 3, 1951-January 23, 2026

Fred was born in St Petersburg, FL and graduated from St Petersburg High School in 1969.

After graduation, Fred went to look for America, visiting Vermont and ending up in California. After his wanderlust he returned to St Petersburg and met his wife, Elaine. Elaine just so happened to be his best friend Sam’s sister. They moved to Gainesville and unfortunately the marriage ended but not the friendship. Lifelong friends with Sam, Elaine and the whole family.

Fred made frequent visits to St Petersburg where his siblings reside. He was a musician and played harmonica with local groups in Gainesville and sat in with numerous bands in the Tampa Bay area. He was musical dictionary when it came to recorded material. From the Beatles to Frank Zappa, he could tell you who was in the band, who played what instrument, who produced the album. He was the guy you wanted on your trivia team. He was also an avid Scrabble player and played in many tournaments.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents Orin and Nancy Reeves. He is survived by his siblings Tim Reeves of Lake Panasoffkee; Patrick “Shorty” Reeves of St Petersburg and his only sister Nancy Jane Bauder (Michael) also of St Petersburg. Fred had numerous nephews and nieces and grand nephews and nieces who he loved very much.

Fred will be remembered at Sorensen Funeral Home, 3180 30th Ave N, St Petersburg, FL on Saturday, February 7. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. and conclude at 1 p.m. Eulogy at 12:30 p.m.
