Ellie Jennings Obituary

Eleanor “Ellie” Jennings was born in Queens, NY September 4th, 1949, to her loving parents Lucille and Arthur Perrin. Ellie passed May 14, 2024, in St. Petersburg, Fl.  With her family, Ellie moved to Melbourne, Florida in 1962. She graduated from Melbourne High School and attended Barry College in Miami, Florida, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1971.

Ellie acquired her love of professional sports watching games with her dad on TV. Her father, “Art”, was once a sports editor at the New York Herald Tribune, which also influenced Ellie’s passion for the written word and English language. Recently, Ellie joined a writer’s group with whom she met weekly, forever honing this beloved skill.

Ellie met her husband Martin Jennings in 1974, with whom she had two daughters, Kelly and Casey Jennings. She loved nothing more than her daughters and granddaughters, frequently boasting of their accomplishments and ordinary life happenings.

Ellie will be remembered for her ebullient sense of humor, faithful friendships and unwavering devotion to her children and grandchildren. Ellie is survived by her daughters, Kelly Kube and Casey Wilson, her grandchildren, Sydney Wilson, Avery Wilson and Harper Kube and her sister, Patricia Hull. She is preceded by her parents, Lucille and Art, and her brother, John.

Ellie’s visitation is scheduled at 10 a.m., Friday May 24th, with a Memorial service commencing at 11 a.m. Refreshments to follow. All services to be held at Sorensen Funeral Home located at 3180 30th Avenue North in St. Petersburg.
