Dolores Meyers Obituary

Dolores Meyers, 66, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, August 17th, 2025 at HCA Northside Hospital.  Dolores is survived by her sister, Kathleen Kowalik, her nephew, John Kowalik (Renee), and her niece, Jessica Geis (Ian). She is also survived by her great niece, Elizabeth Kowalik, and great nephews, Michael Kowalik, Owen Geis, Grant Geis, and Ethan Geis. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Joann Meyers.

Dolores is a St. Petersburg native born at St. Anthony’s Hospital on May 21st, 1959. She attended Transfiguration Parish School, St. Petersburg Catholic, the Cathedral of St. Jude, St. Petersburg College, and the University of South Florida. She retired from the City of St. Petersburg after 35 years of commendable service as a Senior Systems Programmer.

Dolores loved spending time with her family hosting many Sunday brunches and Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter holidays. She was a dedicated daughter taking care of her parents in many capacities. She was a loving sister who was always there when Kathleen needed her.  And a generous aunt doting on John and Jessica.

Her greatest love in her life were her doggie babies, Rusty, Ginger, Goldie, and Sadie. May they be waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge.

A few facts about Dolores:

Her long platinum blonde hair was epic. She always made quite an entrance with her mane.

During her high school trip to Spain, the entire hotel lost electricity when she tried to use her hair dryer.

Her long finger nails, neatly painted a bright red or pink, were equally admired.

She didn’t like the nickname given to her by her sister and often threatened her niece and nephew with less presents if they called her that.

She had a crush on Joe Montana, San Francisco Forty Niner football player, and talked about him frequently.

Her favorite place on earth was Lake Tahoe.

During her college years, she was a cake decorator at a local bakery.

Dolores, you will be greatly missed and always loved.

A funeral Mass for Dolores will be held Friday, August 22nd, 2025, 10am at St Raphael’s Catholic Church followed by burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
