David Marks Hasbrouck Jr. Obituary

David Marks Hasbrouck Jr. passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024. He was born November 16, 1938 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to David M. Hasbrouck Sr and Elizabeth T. Hasbrouck. The family, including his older sister Dorothy relocated to Clearwater Beach when he was a young boy. Upon graduation from Clearwater High School David joined the Navy and served for 4 years on the USS Randolph.

He worked as an auto mechanic at several garages and car dealerships in the Tampa Bay area. He loved animals and had many, many dogs, cats and birds throughout his life. For 2+ decades David was a caregiver for his partner Linn Masterson until her death in 2019. He spent the past 5 years enjoying life with Shirley Schomelly and her 4 children, Shawn, Evie, Katrina and Jodi and their families.

Sadly, he was predeceased by this youngest son, Robert "Bobby" Hasbrouck and his grandson, Tyler Dyer earlier this year. He is survived by his oldest child, Laurie Ann Coady (Terry) and his 2nd child, his son David Scott Hasbrouck, his 7 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. He also is survived by his nieces, Marianne Fullerton, Carolyn Purdy(Grafton) and nephew, Robbie Nott (Tammy) and Granddaughter-in-law Sarah Lutz.

A service will be held at Bay Pines Cemetery at a future date to be determined.
