Carol Rose Schiavo Assalita was born to Pearl and Mathew “Red” Schiavo in Taylor, Pennsylvania on Christmas Day in 1943. Carol is survived by, and the devoted wife to, Ron Assalita of 57 years and also survived by her 4 daughters: Kristy, Tracy, Shala, and Cara, her 4 grandkids: Brandon, Erica, Johnny, and Julian, 4 great-grandkids: Drea, Lexi, Ty, and Ellie, and siblings: Jimmy Schiavo and Nancy Bogdanski and their families.
Carol loved, above all, her family as well as white Christmases, crime TV shows, traveling, all things chocolate, and was an avid sports fan. She rooted for the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles, managed to attend every one of her 4 daughters sporting and special events, and true to form, Carol passed peacefully with the Tokyo Olympics track & field playing in the background with her family by her side.
Carol departed on Monday, August 2, 2021, after gracing us earthside for 77 years. She leaves her family with endless fond memories full of laughter and love. She will always be remembered as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed but will live on in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to Alzheimer's research.
