Betty Joyce Ali-Turner Obituary

In Loving Memory of Betty Joyce Ali-Turner

Celebrating a Life Filled with Song, Love, and Companionship

Betty Joyce Ali-Turner, a cherished member of Lealman Church of the Nazarene, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, at the age of 84, after a prolonged illness with dementia. She was surrounded by love and the gentle remembrance of a life well-lived.

From her teenage years, Betty found profound joy in singing with the church choir. Her voice, filled with warmth and devotion, uplifted countless souls and brought comfort to those around her. Singing was more than a passion for Betty - it was her spiritual connection and her gift to the world.

Betty was also a devoted animal lover and shared a special bond with her beloved cat, Nicky. Known affectionately as her “fur baby,” Nicky was her constant companion, bringing her immeasurable happiness and comfort throughout their years together. Betty was deeply heartbroken by Nicky’s passing in April of last year, but she always cherished the memories and joy he brought into her life.

Those who knew Betty will remember her for her unwavering faith, and her capacity for love, whether through music or the cherished moments spent at home with Nicky. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to share in her journey.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who heard her sing. May she rest in peace, reunited with her “fur baby,” surrounded by eternal song.

She is survived by her two children Randolph Ali and Curtis Ali, her daughter-in-law Lisa Ali and her two beloved granddaughters, Shania Ali and Sonia Ali. She is also survived by her niece Donna Khan, her nephew-in-law Larry Khan and her grand niece Karina Khan. Donna shared a special bond with Betty and became one of her closest confidantes.

She is also survived by numerous cousins including Pamela, Premchand, Maureen, Seeta, June, Sandra, Judy, Helen and Avis.

Her family extends their gratitude for all the love and support they received and is extremely grateful to the staff of Suncoast Hospice Care Center Mid Pinellas for their compassionate care and for keeping her comfortable during her final days.

A service to honor her life will be held on January 24, 2026, at Sorensen Funeral Home. There will be a viewing from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm with a service at 2:45pm. Her Pastor and cherished friend Sharon Barber will be leading the service. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate the legacy she leaves behind.
