Arthur Jarvis Everett, 91, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed peacefully on July 20, 2026. Born, raised, and rooted in St. Petersburg, Arthur spent his entire life in the city he loved — a place woven through every story he told and every memory he carried.

Arthur cared for everyone he met. He had a gift for finding conversation in any moment and a joke for any person who needed their day brightened. A man of deep faith, he devoted much of his life to serving God and supporting his church community. His final charitable act was a donation toward building the new nursery at Lighthouse Church — a reflection of his lifelong passion for helping children smile.

Arthur worked for many years as an appliance repairman for Sears, where he eventually retired. His life, however, was filled with many other colorful chapters: running the Bait House at the St. Petersburg Pier as a child, working with an elephant at Webb City as a teenager, serving at Fort De Soto as a young adult, and spending a short period in the Naval Reserves. Every job became a story, and every story became a treasure he shared with those around him.

He was married to his beloved wife, Wanda, for 65 years until her passing in 2017. He is also preceded in death by his son and two daughter‑in‑laws. Arthur is survived by three sons, one daughter-in-law, eight grandchildren, seventeen great‑grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. Over the years, he opened his heart to many others he considered family, welcoming them with the same warmth and generosity he offered his own.

Arthur was the storyteller of the family — blessed with an extraordinary memory and an ability to recall vivid details from his youth. He loved baseball, fishing, and talking about God to anyone willing to listen. His deep roots in St. Petersburg made him a living archive of the city’s past, and newcomers often found themselves captivated by his tales of days gone by.

He had a heart for children, always seeking ways to make them smile, laugh, and feel loved. His kindness, humor, and unwavering faith touched countless lives, and his legacy will continue through the stories he told and the people he cared for.
