Willis, Ralph Daniel “Dan”

72, of St. Petersburg, passed away on October 6th, 2017 at home.

Ralph Daniel Willis was born in Greenville, Michigan on May 18th, 1945 the 4th of 5 children to Ralph & Elnora Willis. Better known as Danny to friends & family, he & his siblings grew up in a pastor’s home and were immersed in church activities. Just before Dan’s first year in college, his father accepted the position of pastor at a tiny little country church in Ohio, North Mount Zion.

It was here that he met his future wife, Sharyl Doenges and on August 18, 1967, they were married. They both attended Fort Wayne Bible College and Dan graduated in 1969 with a B.A. in Missions. He fathered 2 daughters, Deborah & Deanna. His professional life contained a vast array of experiences & pursuits including pastoring a church, insurance sales, electrical work, & as owner of several different types of businesses.

In 1992, he and his family moved to St. Petersburg,  Florida to work as a printer for Drive-in Ministries which was then located on US 19 and later replaced by the Super Wal-Mart.

He is survived by his wife, Sharyl; daughter, Deborah Wise (married to Steve Wise) who is currently living in Winona Lake, Indiana; and daughter, Deanna Vesey (married to Bryan Vesey) who is currently living in Tampa, Florida. There will be a gathering on Saturday, October 21st in the Sorensen Funeral Home Chapel from 10:00am-11:00am followed by a memorial service at 11:00am.
